Reimagined as a calm city retreat in Auckland, this luxury apartment interior balances a dual brief — private city base and Airbnb — within a narrow, dual-aspect plan. Originally defined by a stark white interior, the design introduces warmth, colour, and tonal layering while preserving a sense of lightness throughout. A restrained palette is anchored by a soft terracotta ceiling, bringing intimacy and depth without diminishing natural light. Bespoke joinery — a custom tiered shelving and integrated bench element — subtly reconfigures the open plan, creating a defined dining zone without solid separation. A restored timber dining table grounds the space with material warmth and tactility. Bedrooms are treated with restraint and texture — a v-grooved headboard wall adding depth, soft neutral tones punctuated by considered moments of colour. The result is a considered urban apartment renovation — warm, contemporary, quiet, and gently expressive.
A calm reworking of a compact city apartment, where warmth is introduced through a restrained palette of terracotta, timber, and soft tonal layering. Spatial definition is achieved without solid partitions, using bespoke joinery to gently organise living and dining within an open plan. Personal artwork and considered colour accents bring depth and individuality, balancing light, texture, and a quietly expressive atmosphere throughout.
